Depends how you define failure

Villa are one of those clubs that think they're a bit special and should be regular players in Europe.

Realistically all they can hope for is finishing midtable each year.

Lambert would be better off having another season to try and improve on this season, then waiting to see if a big club wanted him.

No doubt Villa could pay him more money but if that's all he wants then he deserves them.
