Why aren't Holt and Pilkington playing ahead of Downing and Carroll?

Is it because Holt's not going to play in the world cup? Because Downing won't.

Or is it because the squad has been picked on the basis of reputation and transfer fees rather than footballing ability?

I hope we lose the Euros. Fed up of watching s**t like this line up whilst better players who'd love the chance to play sit at home.
