Having heard those comments from the agent

I think this will be sorted one way or another today and am more positive about things being worked out.

If this is all some mega blub over comments someone has said then it all seems completely ridiculous so I still think the root of it must be money but guess we will know soon enough.

The statement of the agent about wanting to sort it out as he is a professional sounds to me like he doesn;t want to leave and a compromise might be on the cards.
