The base of our entire success (instilled by Lambert) over the past three years is a close-knit unit with a positive attitude. If Holt wants out, let him go. Don't let him fester around Colney with an attitude, bringing the rest of the squad down.
Besides, he has always been a bit of a littlest hobo so why are shocked that he's got itchy feet again?
With regards to Lambert, I don't see him going anywhere at the moment. Villa are in discussions with Ole, which suggests that we had already turned them down if they enquired about Lambert. Liverpool won't take him either and besides, his stock will really improve if he can overcome second season syndrome. That's when the big clubs would start taking a serious look and would come quicker than if he stepped over to the likes of Villa.
The realisation for me is that after declaring man-love for Holt for three years, the feeling is rather fickle. I'm grateful for all he's done but in a split second I disconnected from that feeling. I then realised that my only true love is for the club.
