My only problem with the whole Ward scenario

was when he was getting in the team ahead of either Martin or Naughton, leaving the back four like this:

Naughton Bennett Ward Drury

or:

Martin Bennett Ward Drury

which were both far weaker than:

Naughton Bennett Martin Drury

As a final option who plays when everyone else is injured then I'm fine with Ward, it just annoyed me when he was making loads of mistakes while we had a far better back four being broken up by his presence in the team. Obviously I can't fault Ward for being picked, he's just trying to do his job, I think Lambert now realises Wards level in comparison to the rest.
