Ive met the fella several times and he has always struck me as a very humble non-presumptuous type. When asked "are you going to stay at NCFC" he is bound to say "I don't know" because the decision isn't solely down to him. I was working at FCR last May when he was in negotiations with McNally, he had to walk through the meeting room that I was using several times, each time he was most apologetic and even spent some time chatting with my colleagues.
He has been working to a rolling contract and now both he and the club have to decide whether to commit to each other long term. It is a big decision for both parties coz I reckon McNally and the board will not make a soppy sentimental decision, it will be a hard nosed business one. If, in their view there is a better manager available to take us to the next step then it will be thanks and bye bye Lambert.
Personally I expect him to be offered a 3 or even 5 year contract and I expect that he will accept. He is a young manager and has much to do here!
