Whitbread, Ayala and Tierney are injured certainly 2 and quite possibly all 3 would be starting otherwise. If AD is now injured we have little choice for the Arsenal game because Martin will be needed at full back. I personally would prefer Leon to Ward.

It is hugely frustrating to have given more than a dozen goals away from losing possession in our own half and particularly against the top teams such as Newcastle, Arsenal, lolopool, Chelsea. I think sometimes we have to be prepared to hoof it a bit more and try to play football in their half, this is what we did against spurs and everybody thought it was great.

Against the best teams I think it right to start with 1 striker but you need Wes on there to pick up the bits and make things happen.

Another sleepless night, come on Chelsea.
