FAO CB41 - South Africa last year

We went to S Africa last November. We stayed in Scottbrough and could see humpback whales from our balcony. Went out in a rib and had one breach about 30m from us, awesome. Then went to ThulaThula game reserve. Home of the man who wrote the Elephant Whisperer. Yes I?ve got a signed copy of the book. Yet to be read as i am on book 5 of Game of Thrones!

Saw loads of animals and birds. Walking safari was stunning. Marshall Eagles are imperious. Then drove to the battle grounds of Isandhlwana etc. Rourke?s drift is tiny! In Cape Town went whale watching from Hermanus, the world?s number one place for watching whales from the shore. Saw southern right whales. Then on to see penguins and oddest of all, ostriches at the Cape of Good Hope.
