Thoughts for next season ...

Here's my thoughts on the current squad and what may need to change.

Goal - I think we may get some backup if theres any spare cash or an experienced out of contract goalie ... but Ruddy will be no1 unless someone poaches him and the younger lads look good so maybe not.

Defence - Have quite a lot of CB now and with Ayala, Whitbread and Bennett some quite good ones ... i wouldnt be surprised not to see any more. Naughton on full time transfer (goes without saying) and I would say we need some better quality in both the full back areas.

Midfield - I believe that Lambert has not yet got the central midfield he wants. Howson looks a great signing and i cant see fox not getting another contract. I feel the hardest thing will be taking the team to "the next level". Pilks and Bennett havent set the world alight for me and although i feel they have potential i think one really important area is going to be a quality winger.. doesnt matter which side. Also another quality holding midfielder. I think the problem is going to be it cant be a gamble on untried players although young incey from blackpool may fit the bill. The central midfielder for me needs to be premier league experienced player. (this though is going to cost :-( so i would bet we dont get it).

Attack -
The area most talked about all season. I like Jackson, but for me Wilbraham and Jackson arnt good enough to hit that next level... Vaughan (just have no idea and knowing our luck he turn into a "sick note" darren anderton player) Holt and Morrison I believe have the ability to do it at this level and can play better as the team gets better. Hoolahoop .... Obviously i would keep wes although I have to say for me he frustrates me, if only he could do 5 - 10 actual goals a season along with all the great play we would have a ?10million player on our hands. I think a quality forward - with pace and skill. Now this will be our problem. even Ricky Lambert is going to cost well over ?5million and i believe you need to spend at least that.

I believe its ?1million extra money per premier league place so we need every point we can get then :-)
