There was some debate on here a few weeks ago about working for free, or for benefits only in order to gain experience of work which would help longer term employment. I?m not here to debate the dubious or otherwise ways of how it was done with regard to having to work or the potential removal of the JSA or other things
Luckily, working for free did the trick in our case.
For the last three months Mrs KC has decided that she wants to go back to work, but wanted a term time job to she can be around during the holidays for the girls and so they can indulge themselves in their various sporting activities.
So she has been working for free since January in the local school gaining experience of how things are done in local education. Before this she was the volunteer gardening club teacher, something she?s also also done for free for the last few years. Running the gardening club was a big help in securing the voluntary work.
And yesterday it all worked out as he was offered a place at another local school as receptionist/admin/office help etc. Having the experience was a huge factor as they would have to do very little training and she could get in and start immediately.
The competition for these jobs is fierce, in more than half of the jobs she had already applied for Mrs KC was informed that there had been over 100 applications for one post
So well done Mrs KC.
