Refurbed foons are OK. But with a refurbed lappy you need to make sure you get a

decent length guarantee for both the hard disk AND the battery as both have fairly short lives anyway.

And the thing with lappies is that you can often get a brand new one, far better spec, for 20 or 30% more.

I bought a refurbed iPhone 3G from work for 200 euros. Used it for about 18 months, gave it to the missus when I got my iPhone 4. That was a year ago now and it is still going strong
