What the spaniel-tugging fugg are you on about?

Never mind: you're clearly off your bonce on coca leaves.

No, I just love the fillum and I'm not the only one, I know: even the much-missed (that is, last time I looked it had died) website Insultingly Bad Movie Physics gave it a pass: "There's a lot of bad physics in The Abyss but as it's such a great movie we've decided not to pass comment".

Certain fillums just make me feel happy and warm and lovely. Miller's Crossing, as I mentioned, is another - it's the feel of the thing, it's like everyone involved in it was having a great time.

Other faves include Donnie Darko (beautiful to look at and just exactly right in the WTF??? dept), Withnail, Dragon Hunters (kids animation that's just gorgeous to look at: everyone I've given a copy has admitted that they too waqtched bits of it again, in slo-mo, just because it's so pretty), memories of Matsuko (tho you do have to love Japanese movies for that 'un), ummmmmm
