Yeah, there's plenty of places that will securely sort the drive out.

Your local recycling centre will probably know, if not the council?

If all else fails, whip the HDD out yourself, give the computer away and either:
* burn the HDD at your convenience, on Bonfire Night perhaps?
* get your drill out and drill a few flipping great holes through it. Then burn it.
