This has probably been done to death, but after advice on a good laptop.

My niece has just got her A Level results and has got her place at Edinburgh Uni. She has a laptop at the moment, but it's 3 years old, so the family are all chipping in to get her a new one, with a decent anti-virus package and printer.

I know absolutely nothing about pcs, anyone have any good ideas? Lots of memory, processing power, good screen and something that is going to hold its own over the three years that she is there.
