When was the last time you got a good telling off?

Saturday for me.

I was merrily taking photos at the DW with my Fujifilm digital SLR camera with 18x optical zoom, of various scenes including our full and fantastic support, the three other empty stands, a close up of Lady Delia and St Michael in the directors box, and some of the action on the pitch.

Suddenly, I felt a tap on my shoulder, and there's a steward behind me bedecked in his all-powerful orange jacket. He sternly informed me that I'm wasn't allowed to take video footage inside the stadium. I informed him that I was taking still photographs and not video as he'd accused. He immediately suggested that he'd stood and watched me film some video, and told me once again that filming or recording inside the stadium was strictly prohibited.

I again protested my complete innocence, and proceeded to show him the photographs that I had taken. There was a short, almost stunned silence from him before he piped up once again. On seeing the photo of Delia and Michael, he decided that my lens was too big and told me in no uncertain terms that I had to put my camera away immediately. Upon which the row to my right hand side and behind me burst into a round of condemnation of the steward or spontaneous laughter. Or both. Cue jobsworth skulking back from whence he'd came, never to be seen again that day.

Gladly, I got plenty more photos of our momentous first game back in the Prem.

OTBC.
