Then go even further and make a suggestion as to what should be done

All very well and good to say it is stupid but surely anyone in their right mind should realise if they live in somebody else's property, ie a council house they might be sleeping on uncertain ground if they go around smashing the council's (and others') property up.

How many times did we hear this week that these people thought they could do what they liked without fear of retribution? It is the failure to have any deterrant that cultivates such a view. Time to use the full force of the deterrants and punishments that are available.
