Regardless of partitioning, you cannot leave software on. Open Office is an

annoyance for those not used to it.

Partition it, move all the data to the partition, install Windows 7 on the system partition and then re-install office from the discs you found down the back of the sofa, or download it illegally from a torrent somewhere (since they've already bought it once anyway why be guilty about it ?)
