I would elaborate on point 1, in that in Walkers time it was still possible for a team to spring a realsurprise and challenge off the back of shrewd signings over a few years (Stringer and Walker) and a great ol glut of team spirit.

Days that are now long gone.
Title pushes now need to be funded by £100m or so.
