I think if the same two teams played again tomorrow, Colchester would win very easily again, probably by a similar score. Here's why:
Theoklitos appears to have none of the attributes necessary to be a keeper.
Otsemobor I thought played pretty well for a lot of the match yesterday. But he did what he so often does: gave the opposition a goal.
Doherty put in some great tackles and interceptions, and also gave the opposition a goal. And he gives away free kicks in goal scoring positions. Which Theoklitos will not save.
Whalley I have watched for a game and a half, and he has yet to take on a full back, let alone beat one.
Tudur Jones I saw play for Swindon at Northampton. He was worse then than yesterday - he was too slow to get near the ball at all.
Hoolahan as usual ran round and round in circles and achieved nothing. He might be effective with good players around him, but he won't be with us.
Holt and Martin worked hard but had no understanding and no support.
If we put that lot out again we are going to get beat again, I can't see how it will be different - especially as 22 other managers have seen that all you have to do is run at us or chip the ball over our defence.
