having seen the game I can categorically say that it didn't seem to be 'just an exercise' to Wigan. They were very fired up for the game - much different to most preseason games where tackling never happens.

I guess you could just as easily argue that we actually beat two premiership sides.

The fact is that against a competitive higher league side we actually played attractive, free flowing passing football that was a pleasure to watch. We scored three good goals. And we played with a confidence I've not seen for a good few years.
