Just back from the Wes Hoolahan show

1st time watching norwich pre-season, usually I try to make one of the local away games but for one reason or another this year i have not been. After watching todays performance i am excited about the new season now, we showed some excellent touches, passing and attacking movement and were more than a match for wigan (i know its only preseason)

Theo - not much to do all game really, i cant remeber one real save he had to make, not much chance for goals - 6

Semi - We know he has all this talent, where was this last year? brillaint for the first goal, took his chance well, showed he could get involved - 7

Doc - assured as ever, you cant help but love him, going to be a real leader this year -7

Spillane - Good to see him back, played well, left open a bit at times - 6

Drury - comfortable as ever, got forward a bit too like the Drury of old, good to see - 7

Whalley - not a 'take on player' kind of winger but he looks good enough, looks like he has a bit of pace on him and as said in post below he will score goals this year - 7

OTJ - done well and got in on a few challenges, a bit quiet after he took his knock towards the end of the first half but its going to be hard to shrug him off the ball - 6

Hughes - for the first 30 mins i was thinking 'Bring back Sammy!' didnt really do much and will struggle to see where he fits not really a centre midfielder based on todays performance, good to see him replaced to give Gill a go - 5

Wes - The little man ran the show today, he is up for the fight this year and boy does it show, wanted the ball all day long and was given a free role to roam today, should of smacked michael brown when he had the chance - 8 (if this was a league game prob would of been a 9)

Martin - looks like he started on the left as wes had a free role and started behnd Holt. Done well and has clearly learnt how to play football at Luton, seems he has become more complete, took his goals well today will start next week - 7

Hot - Never seen him play before in my life, and im impressed by his contribution, this is the big man we have been missing since Ashton, someone who can mix it with the centre halves of the league and can win headers, like to get on the end of crosses to, hopefully will score a hatful - 7

Subs - Cody - done alright - 6
Gill - derserves to start in front of hughes, showed energy and got a couple of tackles in
Jamie - tried hard as ever, just got muscled out a few times - 5
Tom - cant spell surname, and not even gonna try, can see why people are raving about him, lost the ball once and got straight back up chased down the player to win the ball back, great determination - 6

Next week I Would change Gill for Hughes and i think our starting line up is pretty much set, I'm quietly confident going into the season now, bring on Col U!!
