Does this guy report into you? If so I'd pull him aside and call him a stupid c**t and

tell him in no uncertain terms that under no circumstance that he does it again and if he does do it again, that you'll personally clear out his desk for him. If he doesn't report into you just laugh it off as you have done and change the subject
