ps3

hi guys, i have a problem, i bought myself a surround sound for my computer and i wanted 2 try and make it work with my tv, i have the adaptor for my surround sound 2 swap it 2 a AV plug and then i have a scart out of the tv to the av and sound works on the system BUT when i then click my tv to av4 (ps3) it still plays tv sound... am i doing something stupid or is there another lead i need??
