Last night - absolutely disaster of a result

Was gutted at the end of teh game last night. Ok the players are playing with more commitment (most of them anyway) and freedom and it looks like Holly may flouyrsih under the new regime but to try and dress up that final result as anything other than a shocker would be spin at its best.

I've seen us play Southampton both times this season and on both occasions we should have absolutely murdered them. They are a fragile team full of kids who are there for the taking. At St Mary's we missed early chances that would have led to a comfortable win and then they got confidence from a windergoal. Last night we had them utterly on the ropes and let them get a point they never looked like getting. Instead of taking 4 or 6 points off probably the worst team in the league (equal with charlton) we have given them 4 points. I very much doubt they will get 4 points off any other team this season and in my view those 4 points will end up sending us down unless the board can pull a magic striker out of the hat in the next few days.

I am still right behind Gunn and the boys but last night was a real reality check. How we have ended up in the ridiculous position of having to play darrel russel as a striker is absolutely staggering. if the board do not find the cash for a striker in the next week it will be tantamount to negligence. If Bishop is available for ?200K then just bl**dy get him because he will be better than what we've got and for that sort of cash there is really no risk!

Other comments:

1. If Roeder had put out a team with Fozzy starting and Russell up front he would have got no end of stick. I am giving Brian the benefit of the doubt for the time being but if those two are starting in their current positions at the end of the transfer window I will be very disappointed.

2. Thought Grounds was very good apart from their second goal!

3. What the hell is wrong with Otsemabor these days?
