that he is suggesting that everyone who goes on that programme somehow finds some link to Auschwitz in their family history (no matter how distant a relation) so as to create a more fascinating story. Whereas he just went to Ireland.

He appears to be taking the piss out of the programme or himself but because he mentions Auschwitz it's deemed completely unacceptable.

Lead Balloon with Jack Dee made a similar dig at that programme but without mentioning Auschwitz. Just as well I guess.
