I see that as a plus point

He has a great stock of goodwill with the fans - personally I could never get on his back. Whereas a lot of people never liked Hamilton, or Worthless or Grant - so it would take a lot more going sour for the crowd to turn. And no-one liked Roeder.
And the last 3 managers all decided to slag off the fans, which really didn't help. That just isn't Gunny.

And I'm not a particular believer in the cult of the manager, but I think what happens is that you get a manager whose style gels with the players he has, it's not much to go on, but judging by the way Wes and Jamie spoke, and by the way Doc and Foz and Rusty played this lot might just run through walls for him.

And I don't place much stock on experience either. Rioch had all the experience in the world but half the time we looked f**king clueless with him in charge. All the Barnsley fans are going on about how Gunny outthought their bloke today.

Forget psychometric testing and Bobby the SCum Cunt, the answer is there for all to see.
