Shockingly manager talk
I was told by a member of NCFC staff today (admin not playing) that they had just had a meeting and were informed of the following:
1. Interviews being held on Monday, appointment to be anounced Wednesday.
2. Manager will be given either a six month contract OR an eighteen month. However if its an eighteen month there will be a clause stating that they can let the person go with little or no compensation.
3. There WILL be someone with close ties with the club get an appointment on the staff (not nesseccarily as manager).
4. The whole Worthy and NI fiasco last night was not quite as it seems. We made contact with the NIFA to get Worthy in alongside doing his international job. And it was NOT for the managers job, but as someone to assist whoever the new guy is. They rejected the move, we said fair play, but asked them to keep it quiet so not to stir anything up, five minutes later they issued their press release.
I'm pretty sure thats it.
So I personally am guessing this puts Robins out of the running, as he is unlikely to give up a perfectly good contract to come somewhere with no definate future.
And also i have a feeling the appointment with ties to the club will be Fleming, still lives near, is already into a bit of coaching, no buyout on an existing contract either. I have to say this would upset me a little, as to me he is not a ledgend in any respect. Nice guy, but massivly overrated as a player, only reason (in my opinion) he ever looked half tidy was because he played alongside genuinly good centre backs.
Phew, that was a bloody long post!!!!
