I emailed Mr Doncaster about an hour ago, asking why the club had approached Nigel Worthington. . . . this was his response:
thanks for your email Adam

Nigel has not been offered the job

I then sent him another e-mailing asking if the Irish FA had been approached about the possibility of talking to Worthington, this was my reply:

no, no-one has been offered or made any formal approach at all, least of all the IFA

what we have done is to talk to a large number of people to understand their interest and availability, so that any decisions made are made on the basis of full and complete information

I then asked the club to release a statement on the official website to help clear things up for supporters, rather than just myself, but have not had a reply as yet.
