He hardly disgraced themselves either!! His record, for me, is as good as we can hope for

- 1st season - Keeps them up (For the short time he was there)

- 2nd season wins the play offs

- 3rd season, relegated from the prem, no disgrace there

- 4th season, reached play offs (Very difficult to do, as we and many other teams have found with teh Premiership hangover, this despite having his team sold beneath him)

- 5th season, struggled badly after having all his best players sold and trying to change the way they played, also he probably went stale at Watford after overachieving so quickly)

Personally I think he is a great candidate, its all well and good saying he was a hoof merchant, but I think he made teh best of what was available to him, Direct football with lots of pace for knock downs and power, It is how THE MAJORITY of teams get out of this division.

You need fantastic players to make a pretty passing game work all the time, its extremley difficult to get out of this league playing total football as teh players you can attract are not god enough, glenn tried it, southampton are trying it, very few suceed.

Some realism is needed.
