Missed last night because of 'flu

From all accounts it was absolutely dire and there could be no way back for Roeder from there, although I'm a bit surprised the Board acted so swiftly. Swiftly only in the sense of the time from last night to today. Personally I think Roeder should have gone after the AGM which, in my book, was potential grounds for gross misconduct. Not easy to prove, of course, but I think they might have got away with it at an Employment Tribunal, had it come to that. You simply do not treat shareholders like s**t, even if they are s**t.

Where to now? I've been looking at all the speculation, which is in turn entertaining and depressing. "Holloway to be interviewed tomorrow" according to an Oink'Un poster. Oh f**k, do me a favour, the guy's living in the 1950s. Ince? Roeder Junior in my view. Dowie? Well, he may be a rocket scientist, but he's crap as a manager and he's had more clubs than Gary Player. Rioch and or Worthy? According to Waggers, that's where his money is. I hope he loses it. Either of those, even as a caretaker, would be backward thinking and I wouldn't have thought either of them would work for Delia again anyway, thank God.

I wouldn't mind Darren Ferguson, but I can't see him being prised away from Posh. For me, it's got to be somebody currently out of work - Boothroyd the clear favourite in this category although I'm less than sure what he'd do and fearful, perhaps unjustly, about the hoofball reputation. I wouldn't be keen on Pardew or Jewell and although Curbishley sounds OK I don't think he's up for it.

If not somebody out of work, then it's got to be somebody cheap to prise away. Mark Robins the most likely. I've always had a hankering for a Bowen/Crook combo although I can see that this might be too much of a gamble. I've certainly got a hankering for somebody who understands this club and what it's about and there are plenty of ex City players in coaching or managerial jobs or who have recent form. Many people say that's not necessary, but I think that in the current plight it's got to be a good way forward. I wouldn't go as far as Darren Eadie, though and suggest Rob Newman!

So, in the end it'll probably be somebody unheard of or even maybe big Aggie. Let's hope it's quick whatever the result to give us some kind of a chance in the Transfer Window. And let's hope they get rid of f**king Doomcaster as well.
