Murray has been paid a lot of money by the LTA including 50% of Brad Gilbert's wage and some of his new coaching gang. In return, he was expected to make Davis Cup a priority. Federer can skip it sometimes as the Swiss have a pretty strong team without him as do the US, Spain etc
