Not Out because your a blocker. Plenty of Bowlers who do that. Now let's say you were playing a season of 5 games and you got 10 runs for 4 games, those 4 innings ending not out. The other innings you got 15 but were out.

Your batting average would be 27.5. (55 / 2). Now if you were out every game with the same score you would average just 11.

So Not outs are useful indeed.
