Roeder seems to do this quite a bit: come up with something that justifies or validates his opinion.

His tactics aren't open to question because the hoi polloi aren't sufficiently qualified ("I missed your tenure as England manager").

And now little blokes run out of puff sooner, and he can say that because he's studied the game, and understood the human body.
