He said: "I've done my homework on him and spoken to a few people at Arsenal who I trust.
"They said that at Championship level, like he proved at Derby, if you make him chances he'll take them."

So he did do his homework, and knew all about him. And he has indeed taken his chances when he's played. So why hasn't he played more? GR's response below does not explain that.
