Koroma played at Southampton, so Adams may have seen him there

But why did Koroma start that game, having not featured for the previous few games, and having been a rarely used sub?

Of course it was nothing to do with the fact that it was the easiest chance to see their boy play for Norwich.

That selection stank, and looked very dubious to me to say the least.
