Woodhead Pass (avoids Glossop - can be a nightmare)

right hand lane at Motram Moor to go right instead of left at the fork, that puts you on the A6018 to Stalybridge (I think), from there take the road to Ashton, and get on Oldham Road in Ashton - it'll take you straight there, and you don't have to struggle on the M60 at all.
