Yeah, I'll try to get across

I haven't looked exactly, but so far as I can tell the games are both on the west coast: one in/near Gothenburg and another city south of Gothenburg and north of Helsinborg. I live in Copenhagen so I have several options; but from the UK, I guess you can fly into Copenhagen and then get a train or a short flight. Or fly into Malmo and then train or short flight. I'm not sure; but you might also be able to fly into Gothenburg or Helsinborg.

Gothenburg is supposed to be a very nice city and could be a good place to base yourself for a few days. It's also arguably the centre of the Swedish indie pop scene... Helsinborg is more of an industrial town I believe; but I don't know much about it. Sweden in general is very nice and clean. The people are very friendly (don't tell the Danes I told you this) and the girls are drop dead gorgeous for the most part.

Beer isn't as expensive as one might think (but not cheap either - think London prices); but spirits are...
