Back from Plymouth

Thoughts:

1. Plymouth is a bl**dy long way away (from anywhere).

2. I am now reconciled to the fact we are going down. We simply do not have good enough players to get us out of this and there are no characters out there that will roll their sleeves up and drag the rest of the wasters with them.

3. Normally when a team is struggling there is an area you can identify that needs improving and can target it. In this case I don't know where Roeder starts. Other than goalkeeper we are weak everywhere and appear to me to need two new fullbacks, a new central midfielder and a striker as a minimum. If Taylor goes back another cb is needed as well. I cannot think why players of the standard we need would want to join us right now.

4. The following are simply not good enough - Lappin (slowest player in world football), Murray (like one of those kids who grows too fast for their bone structure), Shackell (teammates don't take any notice of him, probably as he makes constant mistakes himself).

5. The rest are just about ok but need leaders and some creativity to make them into anything resembling a team.

6. It has been quite an achievement by the club to manage to make us as bad as we are so soon after relegation. Every time I see us play at the moment I end up shaking my head in disbelief. We are beaten to players by the likes of Hull, Stoke and Plymouth (the winger who tormented us yesterday was that kid from Man U we were trying to get on loan but who chose them instead) and these clubs have better teams than us.

7. The only way i can see us recovering is for fresh blood to come in at board level and put some investment into the club. The board should be doing everything possible to attract such people and by that I don't just mean say "if someone approaches us we will consider it." The Turners need to decide if they are serious about taking the club on or not. if not then stop wasting everyone's time and find someone who is.
