£17,000 a week
Spoke to my friend who worls for Watford yesterday and he had some interesting comments/observations to make about us.
Firstly Hartson - he couldn't believe we had him playing. They prepared their defence for 1 of Hartson or Dublin so knew there would be not much mobility - but he was stunned at the size of Hartson and that we were payig him £17,000 a week to waddle around on loan.
Secondly (after me convinving him what afriendly club we were) he found the opposite to be true - the coaching staff were the least friendly of all the premiership and championship clubs he had visited (staff at ground were ok)
Thirdly - thought our team were completely unfit and that our fitness coach was a complete joke/chancer - interestingly he said Hunter and Bothroyd also shared tis view (not sure who exactly he was talking about but basically said it was clear the bloke did not really know what he was doing). He did speculate that maybe the coaches were trying too hard to impress the new manager.
Fourthly - having worked with Ostembor before was expecting him to be pacy down the right but thought their full backs were much faster than him. I assured him that he was at start of season but we'd coached it out of him.
Fifthly - felt we had a lovely ground - one of best in division - and felt it definitely would be best in League 1 where we are going without some huge loan signings.
Worrying!
