Roeders Comments On Young Players

Specifically how the likes of Spillane and Martin need to do extra work, especially to make them more 'physical'.

As he says, if he has to tell them to do it-thats a problem. They should know and want to do it if they want to get to the top of the game and move onwards (to a bigger club than us, ultimately) and upwards (be Premier league plyers).

How much incentive do they have though and are they motivated enough? Are they going to read his comments and think "f**k that" and moan about him, else have a sly laugh about it with their mates, or are they going to sit up, take notice and listen to him.

Funny how players like Lampard, Scholes, Beckham, Cantona, Di Canio et al are often cited as players that wanted more and wanted to improve themselves, yet, lesser players just don't seem bothered and are enjoying their "comfort zone". Maybe thats why they'll always be that, lesser players?
