Glenn Roeder's contacts

were supposedly one of the main reasons he got the job. He has made a very good signing in Martin Taylor and in his first two games in charge has managed to give our team some shape and belief. However, I am very disturbed that we have no defensive capability on the left hand side of our team and can see this costing us absolutely crucial points in the next few games unless Roeder proves more capable in the loan market than his predecessor.

It's time for him to show that the Board were right to choose him, I think, by him proving more persuasive when talking to managers and players than Grant was. I really hope we get someone in today or I fear another defeat tomorrow.

If ultimately Roeder is no more successful in the transfer market than Grant we might, after all, have been better off with someone else who might have had better motivational powers because if we have to face the rest of the season with the talentless squad we have I don't think Roeder, gentleman and measured thinker as he is, will keep us up.

Before you all start attacking me, I wish him well. I like the way he's conducted himself etc but, if I'm really honest, like Mick Dennis I reckon we are on the way down and it really hurts!!!
