My take on it is...
That he was clearly appointed on his potential to get us out of the s**t. That much was clear from Mumby's comments at the press conference.
We will probably never know how close we came to getting Jewell or Allen or anyone else for that matter. Either way, it would appear that of the available candidates Mr Roeder offered the most compelling strategy for turning around the immediate fortunes of the club.
