Harsh - very harsh

Sure, he was very stressed towards the end - but he had been for - what? - five-and-a-half years, not to mention his previous spells at Bradford and Wednesday. He needed a break - and what he was doing at Wigan was massively against the odds anyway. He knew it couldn't last, so just gradually ran out of drive and enthusiasm: but still had the decency to hang on and make sure he kept them up again.

Now, so long as he's properly refreshed, he'll be ready to come back into football again - and the stress he ultimately felt at Bolton should have no bearing on whichever club appoints him.
