Good grief! The brass neck of it takes my breath away

Of course though, Megson could legitimately argue that the Leicester fans wanted him out anyway, especially after playing abominably and losing to Pop Robson's useless mob. And semantically, isn't there a significant difference between "I was never going anywhere" (which describes something that happened in the past, but doesn't rule out something else happening in the future) and "I'm not going anywhere" (Pulis' words tonight, and the spin the Leicester paper put on what Megson said. I know this is really Clintonesque: but it strikes me Megson chose his words very deliberately.
