almost got Stoke to the playoffs last year and is doing a pretty decent job this year.

If you are saying he wouldn't be able to KEEP us in the Prem if we got there then frankly we aren't in a position where that is a consideration - we need to:

a) achieve safety in this division
b) become promotion contenders in this division

before we even think about consolidatiing in the Prem.

Also, Prem and Championship are very different. One who might be able to keep us up in the Prem might also be one who would get us relegated from this division.
