A few off

Norwich City can confirm that Angus Gunn, Onel Hernández and Jacob Sørensen will leave the club at the end of their respective contracts this summer.

Initially a part of the club's academy, Gunn returned to Carrow Road on loan during the 2017/18 season before joining on a permanent basis in June 2021. The goalkeeper has gone on to feature 171 times in all competitions for the club, keeping 47 clean sheets.

Cuban international Hernández made the move to the Canaries in January 2018, joining from German side Eintracht Braunschweig. He was part of two Sky Bet Championship-winning campaigns as a Norwich player and has made over 200 appearances in all competitions, scoring 15 goals and claiming 26 assists.

Arriving from Danish side Esbjerg fB in July 2020, Sørensen played a key role in the club’s Sky Bet Championship title win during the 2020/21 season. He marked a century of Norwich appearances earlier this season in our draw away at Blackburn Rovers in March.

Also leaving the club are Jonathan Tomkinson and Archie Mair. Tomkinson made two Carabao Cup appearances in August 2022 and made a Championship start away to Burnley in October of the same year. Mair made the move to the Canaries in the summer of 2019 from Aberdeen.

Sporting director Ben Knapper said: “Angus, Onel and Jacob have all played a significant part in our club’s history. They have been part of some very successful teams and their achievements here have been fantastic.

“I know our supporters will join me in showing our appreciation to each of the players for their efforts and contributions to the club during our final fixture of the season this weekend against Cardiff City.

“We all wish them the very best in the next steps of their respective careers. They will all be welcomed back at Carrow Road in the future.”

All at Norwich City would like to thank the players departing for their efforts and contributions to the club.

A further announcement regarding the released and retained list for the club’s Under-21 and development players will follow over the coming period.
