Cheers Steve - yes, I had read about maranoia so suspected that may be at play.
Incidentally, they've changed the finish for Manchester this year so that it is in the city centre rather than at Old Trafford - this means that the hill at Altrincham comes earlier at about 12 / 13 mile distance. Not sure if this will be a good thing or not, but living in Yorkshire and training on hills regularly I hope that it shouldn't be too much of an issue.
