🟢🟡 The #NCFC boss will be with us at 1:30pm 🤝

JHT on team news: “It’s the same. Everybody in the game (against WBA) are available. Nobody else is back. No training for Lucien Mahovo, but potentially training for him on Sunday.”

*Lucien Mahovo will likely not be back until the Easter.*

JHT on Liam Gibbs: “He was training last week and this week. We potentially look to get him some U21 minutes next week.”

JHT on Amankwah Forson: “It has been for a while. What seemed to be a dead leg and we thought a few days out turned into nine weeks. It is frustrating. Especially, after the high of Coventry.”

JHT on Matej Jurasek: “It was probably too soon when we started him against Hull. He had a small injury the previous week. We are talking mostly about his body getting used to training and games. He’s ready now, but not for 90 minutes.”

JHT on Doyle: “He is here every morning. He was out doing some individual work this morning with the fitness guys. We hope he might still play this season. think the price tag will be too much for us. I hope his next step is a club where he will be for two or three years. It’s never ideal to go from club to club."

JHT on West Brom: “When you try to do something new in the way of playing, sometimes you have to take a step back and be more pragmatic. That was the case behind the approach in that game. Also we had to play a left-back out of position.”

JHT on approach for rest of the season: “I think we will change it game-to-game depending on the oppositions strikers or wingers. We have defended in a five before this season, so of course we can do that. It’s about what is best for that game and the players.”

JHT on Angus Gunn: “It was good to see Gunny doing that (big saves), the header in the first half and at the end. We needed him to do that and show that quality.”

JHT on the defence: “I’m not satisfied when I look at the numbers. It shows we are the 10th or 11th best defensive team in the league, but the goals conceded doesn’t show that. Then we have to look at how this has happened and analyse it.”

JHT on Jacob Sorensen: “Obviously there’s a culture and environment where there’s a group of players we have to be protective about. I have to leave aside the contract situation. We and him signed a new contract (last summer), who are we to tell him two months out we won’t play you.”

JHT on Jacob Sorensen: “When we select a team we pick it based on who fits a role or who’s been training well. That isn’t to say Ruairi (McConville) isn’t doing that. It’s a balance.”

JHT on Plymouth: “The first challenge will be to break them down. They will then press us like they have in all their home games. When they step up, it’s about utilising the space that will open up. It’s about finding the balance.”

JHT on the fans: “I was surprised and impressed in pre-season when we played at Northampton when there was a lot of fans. I’ve been impressed with the away fans - it’s impressive. Every time we play we try to give them a good performance.”
