The boss will be with us at 1️⃣:1️⃣5️⃣pm
-------------------------------------------
JHT on Lewis Dobbin: “In a good place. This week has mainly been rest for him. He will do a little tomorrow and join training on Friday.
Matej Jurasek remains out for this weekend.
🗣️ “He should return to training on Monday.”
*Emi Marcondes will be tested tomorrow to see if he’s able to be in the squad for Saturday. *
JHT: “Forson was out there running today, so hopefully he's back with us soon, maybe the end of next week. Gibbs is still doing his rehab, and the plan is for after the international break. We have to see with Forsyth - he's on a two-week rehab now and we'll see after that."
JHT on team news: “No fresh injuries.”
JHT on midfield issues: “We played Preston at home and it wasn’t a good game. We had Jacob Wright in there, who was playing his first ever game in the Championship. But I remain optimistic, when Kenny is back, we will have the midfield we planned for this season.”
*Kenny won't play at the weekend, it's an illness issue not injury*
JHT on Stoke game: “It was still there (frustration). I went home and watched the game and tried to enjoy it - and I did. Then there was those moments in the game where I had to highlight it to the players because we switched off, and I did that.”
JHT on Shane Duffy: “I talk to him about it and he’s that sort of person who admitted I have to do better. He was outstanding for the first 35 minutes against Stoke. Just before half-time it wasn’t a big mistake, it was switching off.”
JHT on Shane Duffy: “I could tell him to kick it away. But then we would be defending against that. Football is a game where there is a hell of a lot of mistakes. This will happen all the time. But it’s about having a structure to prevent this.”
JHT on Kellen Fisher: “He can do it as he has the tehnical abilities (higher up the pitch). When you have those skills you can play in lots of positions.”
JHT on improving Josh Sargent: “I think he needs to run more. When we look at the best nines in the league above, they run more. He can sometimes not be involved for 5-10 minutes in a game, so it’s about pushing him to get involved.”
JHT on Blackburn Rovers: “I’m sorry analyst department. Now we have to watch Watford, Besiktas and West Brom. We won’t know how he likes his team to be, as some coaches like to make changes. It’s why we focus 70-80% on us.”
JHT on away goals record: “There is a big difference going away from home. If you look at the points average away from home, there is not many teams with more than 1.5 points per game. We are not there yet. Hull, Watford and less so Luton were a step forward.”
JHT on Saturday’s game: “I think everything is an opportunity for us. What I don’t believe in football is we have five cup finals or this game is worth six points. Saturday is another game and we have to play up to our maximum.”
