JHT's press conference is coming up at 1.30pm 🎤
-------------------------------------------------------

Marcelino Nunez is back and will play tomorrow 😍
🗣️ “He has been in training all week.”

*Kenny McLean remains unavailable. JHT hopes he might be available for Blackburn. A chance Emi Marcondes might also be available for Blackburn.*

JHT on team news: “Liam Gibbs is much like Gabe (Forsyth) will be out till the other side of the next international break. (Amankwah) Forson is getting better, he might be in the team training next week.”

JHT on Matej Jurasek: “We had to scan his thigh. He needs a few days to rest. He won’t be available for tomorrow.”

JHT on Jose Cordoba: “Jose (Cordoba) has shown he is ready. He will step in and take that position tomorrow (with Doyle suspended for two games).”

JHT on Shane Duffy: “It’s a good call that Shane (Duffy) will be in the team. It’s not been easy to play with the same starting XI for more than two or three games this season. It makes it hard to build that consistency.”

JHT on Shane Duffy: “Most of it is down to him. I spoke to him in Austria where he had been in and out of the team in pre-season. I told him we’d have to wait and see where he was. He’s been very eager to learn and adapt, and one reason he’s been playing.”

JHT on Jacob Wright: “I’m quite impressed. As the first one against Preston was tough for him and it’s the first time he’s had to play a team like that. The Hull game wasn’t his best start to the game, but he developed in that game. That is something good players do.”

JHT on Jacob Wright: “He will play deeper for us. He is a passing player. He needs to be involved early in the game and be part of our build-up play.”

JHT on no.10 role: “Anis (Slimane) can do it. But we miss that when Emi (Marcondes) is not in the team. Oscar (Schwartau) can also do that. But Emi (Marcondes) is the most obvious one in the team.”

JHT on Stoke City: “They can be quite difficult to break down. From game-to-game there will be different decisions you take as a coach. But they are high-pressing on goal-kicks of opponents and that’s a clear principal.”

JHT on top six: “I don’t think we can look at other teams results. I only look at the games. We only have to focus on ourselves and our own performances. Other results don’t matter if we don’t pick up the points.”

JHT on out of contract players: “We’ve not focused on it recently. Ben (Knapper) will be speaking to agents and players. But we’ve not had a meeting about it in the last month. We will pick up on that again in a few weeks.”

JHT on Sorenson: "It will be a late-call on whether weoffer Jacob Sorensen a new contract for next season. He’s useful for us and I trust him. But his injury record is something we have to consider."

JHT on the squirrel: “I’m too worried the referee will stop the game if we do that move again. He’s not in my thoughts.”

JHT on Jose Cordoba: “He was in and out of the team. We then got him an alarm clock so he was in meetings on time. It’s been small injuries and not being 100% fit. It’s a good opportunity, but I told him to just play it like another game and don’t think too much about it.”

*JHT believes Ruairi McConville could strive to be a future captain: “Whether that’s here or somewhere else in the future."
